The easy part of the regular-season schedule is over for the Trail Blazers.

Of the final 11 opponents, nine are potential playoff teams, beginning with San Antonio on Friday night at the Rose Garden.

"It's brutal," point guard Andre Miller said. "But it's a chance for us to get a rhythm, get some confidence against some of these teams and send a message."

Portland (41-30) is in sixth place in the Western Conference, a game behind fifth-place Denver (42-29).

"We can finish at No. 8, we can be at No. 5, you never know," Miller said.

The Spurs (57-13) come to town without Tim Duncan, expected to miss two weeks with a sprained ankle.
