Truth be told, Samuel Dalembert would rather start. He was a starting center in the NBA the previous seven seasons in Philadelphia and was expected to man the middle for the Kings when he was acquired in a trade last summer.

But the development of prized rookie DeMarcus Cousins has kept Dalembert in a reserve role, though he remains classy—and effective.

He keyed the win at Portland by presenting a long challenge to Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge. Against New York's Amar'e Stoudemire, Dalembert blocked a season-high six shots.

Against the Lakers on Friday, Dalembert had a season-high 18 points to go with the season-high 27 for Cousins, as they outplayed the Lakers' more celebrated frontcourt in a 100-95 Kings victory.
