One of the knocks on Rick Carlisle early in his Dallas coaching career was the lack of a consistent rotation. Players privately grumbled, especially on the second team, that they were unsure of when they were going to play or how they would be used.

Carlisle's response was to always be ready. While it makes sense that professional athletes should also be prepared, that message didn't always come across to certain Mavericks.

Those days seem to have passed. While Carlisle may still try different combinations, particularly in crunch time, everyone seems to be on the same page now. And a fairly consistent rotation has developed.

The addition of DeShawn Stevenson to the starting lineup has solidified that group of Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Tyson Chandler and Shawn Marion.
