Brian Cardinal, who plays for Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks, is absolute proof that capitalism can work for you if you work hard and catch a few breaks. My father and I went to many Iowa Hawkeyes basketball games around the time that Brian Cardinal played at Purdue University under Gene Keady. Gene Keady had a tendency to recruit hard-nose players who didn't know the meaning of the word quit, just like Brian Cardinal. Brian Cardinal was a part of an Elite Eight team that was coached by Keady.
