So this is what all the hype was about.

The Atlanta Hawks' new motion offense was supposed to free up Joe Johnson from toting the load every night and involve every man on the floor in the offense.

There were locker room skeptics during training camp. Veterans Jamal Crawford and Marvin Williams nursed injuries. The Hawks struggled to a 2-5 record and looked out of sorts most nights on both ends of the floor.

The doubt vanished after the Hawks piled up 119 points in a season-opening win in Memphis. In fact, it was clear by halftime that whatever tweaks new head coach Larry Drew had made to the Hawks' offensive attack were more than just solid.

The Grizzlies couldn't figure out what to do and that's exactly the way it was designed.
