The Clippers had reason to celebrate as shooting guard Eric Gordon helped Team USA win gold over Turkey (in Istanbul, Turkey's national capital) in the FIBA World Championship.

And while Gordon didn't get it going offensively in the championship game, he appeared to be comfortable in a supporting role throughout the tournament, which might bode well for the 2010-11 regular season.

"I didn't shoot the ball well, but I worked really hard on defense," Gordon told the Los Angeles Times, a reference to his five missed shots from the field along with his two assists, one steal, one block and one rebound in 13 minutes against Turkey. He went on to say, however, that his individual numbers weren't where his focus was: "The main thing about today was just to win.
