USA Basketball suffered through a number of failures during the last decade, but Derrick Rose and friends got it right the first time.
The Bulls guard helped capture a gold medal at the FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Behind a star performance by Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant, the U.S. went undefeated at the tournament and earned an automatic spot in the 2012 London Olympics. The team featured no players from the 2008 Olympic squad.
"Everybody that played here, this is something that you will remember for the rest of your life," Rose said after the championship victory over Turkey.
