Toronto president and general manager Bryan Colangelo vowed before the season began that he would make trades at some point this year to improve his team.
He waited less than a quarter of the season and thinks he's set himself up perfectly for the future.
Toronto acquired Peja Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless from New Orleans on Saturday for Jarrett Jack, David Andersen and Marcus Banks, a move the GM fully admits wasn't primarily done to make this year a success.
"It's pretty obvious this trade was made with the future in mind," he said. "If the last four years were about building around Chris Bosh, the next four years are about building without Chris Bosh."
