The theme through the Pistons' first 15 games has been their open-door policy. Opponents are welcome to attack their interior defense at will, knowing the Pistons don't have the personnel or the toughness to stop them.

The Pistons are surrendering a whopping 46.7 points in the paint on average, the main reason why they have a 5-10 record entering weekend home games against Milwaukee Friday and New York Sunday. Their generosity seems almost limitless. They gave up a season-high 68 points in the lane in a blowout loss at Memphis Wednesday, one night after holding Dallas to 18 paint points.

Even without two starters, the Houston Rockets are climbing out of the hole they dug to start the season. The New York Knicks seem headed toward continuing their recent holiday tradition of being hopelessly behind by Thanksgiving. Kevin Martin scored 28 points, Luis Scola added 24, and the Rockets sent the Knicks to their fifth straight loss with a 104-96 victory on Sunday night.

Nuggets Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Posted on | Sunday, November 21, 2010 | No Comments

Kobe Bryant said Carmelo Anthony has reached out to him. And Bryant's advice was simple.

"I said, 'Make sure you're sure about what you want to do,'" Bryant, the Lakers' star guard, said about Anthony, the Nuggets' star forward. "That's the only advice I gave him."

Anthony, who has yet to sign a three-year, $64.47 million contract extension that is on the table, might want to be dealt before the Feb. 24 trade deadline. He can opt out of his contract next summer and become a free agent. Bryant had wanted a trade from the Lakers three years ago, but the team eventually appeased him by acquiring star forward Pau Gasol and now has won the past two NBA titles.

"He called me up and reached out," Bryant said of Anthony, his teammate on the 2008 Olympic team that won gold in...

There's just something about this year. Something even more historical than Miami Heat's LeBron James, and Chris Bosh acquisitions. Something deserving of more hype than the infamous "Decision". Something that causes more drama and mystery than the Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul situations; more engaging than the touchy new NBA rules implemented this year. The 2010-2011 Los Angeles Lakers could pull something off no other NBA franchise has accomplished.
